Teaching requires dozens of skills: content knowledge, technology, differentiation, lesson planning, diplomacy, empathy, etc. And every teacher has something special they bring to the team.
My skill was design.
I firmly believe that good teaching starts with good design: with thinking about what your students goals and struggles are, planning an activity to help them understand, and designing not only the materials they will use in the lesson, but the directions you will give them that make that lesson easy to understand and learn from.
Good teaching looks remarkably similar to UX Design.
